A chance to stay inside the forest is a privilege and a luxury. Rukad Jungle Camp is one of the rare private wildlife lodges that allows you to stay inside the jungles and allowing you to experience the forest at close quarters. You are on a vacation surrounded by pristine wilderness but at the same time, it is also essential to prioritize safety and follow certain precautions to ensure a secure and enjoyable experience.

  • Follow the Park Rules: Adhere to the rules and regulations of Pench National Park. The area inside the forest is a protected zone, therefore it is extremely crucial to follow the guidelines. The team will be sending a detailed list of the same to you upon booking.
  • Listen to your designated guide: Our designated guides will be accompanying you in all the activities whether it is the nature trail or the jeep safari. Always explore the forest with the authorized guides who have in-depth knowledge of the area and wildlife behaviour. Not only do their knowledge provides valuable insights but it also ensures your safety.
  • Stay on Designated Paths: During your activities, stick to designated trails, paths, or roads. Venturing off-trail can harm the delicate ecosystem, disturb wildlife habitats, and increase the risk of getting lost or encountering dangerous situations. For example, the dense bushes may contain venomous snakes, therefore it is best to stick to the routes suggested by your guide. At Rukhad Jungle Camp, all the cottages are near the water bodies however approaching the water bodies on your own is strictly prohibited as these water bodies are used as a source of drinking water for the wild animals.
  • Presence of Wildlife in Your Vicinity Since you are inside the forest, it is perfectly normal to spot the pug marks around the cottage in the morning or hear the various sounds of the jungle in the night. Don’t be surprised if you hear the alarm calls to signify the presence of a predator or a tiger growl echoing through the darkness. Rest assured, these nocturnal sounds are a natural part of the jungle's rhythm, ensuring that even while we sleep, the wilderness remains wide awake. Ensure that you do not leave any doors and windows open at night, nor do you step out of the rooms at night.
  • Carry Essential Supplies: Carry essential supplies such as insect repellent, sunscreen, appropriate clothing and a torch. Be prepared for unexpected situations and ensure you have the necessary items to keep yourself safe and comfortable.
  • Carry Medication: As you prepare for your stay in the wilderness, it's important to note that the nearest medical facilities are located at least 3-4 hours away from our wildlife lodge. To ensure your well-being and peace of mind, we strongly recommend that you carry all necessary medications with you during your visit. It is essential to have an ample supply of any prescription medications you require, as well as any over-the-counter remedies you may need.
  • Maintain Distance from Wildlife: While encountering wildlife, maintain a safe distance and avoid approaching or provoking them. Respect their space and observe from a distance to avoid any potential conflicts. The key is to listen to your naturalist.
  • Avoid Feeding Animals: Do not feed any wildlife during your stay. Feeding animals can disrupt their natural behaviours, create dependency, and even lead to aggressive behaviour. Remember, they are wild animals and should not become accustomed to human interaction.
  • No Smoking and Drinking Alcohol Inside the Forest
Forests are a pristine area and you are not allowed to light any fires, smoke or consume alcohol inside the forest.
  • Respect the Environment: Help preserve the forest by following sustainable practices. Avoid littering, respect the natural surroundings and do not disturb or remove any plants, rocks, or artefacts. Leave the forest as you found it, ensuring its conservation for future generations.
